Everyone enjoy the fair, and adult classes are scheduled as usual. Try to get some training in, as to not be a piece of garbage from eating your fair food.

Youth BJJ: Leg Drag- From feet on hips have them continue. if going to the back is going well, have the bottom player learn to square back up against a standing passer that has done a leg drag but not completed the pass to a downed position. Essentially it’s just tracking.

Glad to see Jesse is feeling better and back in action. We are rescheduling the Muay Thai Prajied Testing for this Friday 6-7:30. Jesse is on the hunt for someone to run the Friday Youth Sparring class. Please let him know if you’re down to run it. Hope Andrew and Tyler are doing good on their TDY. We are taking this month off from the Flex class for me to recalibrate next months theme. The combatives class was a big hit and had sustained attendance. It was really nice seeing that. I would love for that to become its own class set and Program in the future. Congratulate Kyle Virgilio when you see him, He became a SOCP Instructor and graduated with a 100% on his test out.
Last week was cool with little Liam bringing in what seemed to be his entire class on Thursday. give him high fives for telling all of his friends about us when you see him, maybe even say something about it in front of the class for everyone to clap for him.
BJJ: sequences that arrive to the back takes we did last week(s) with finishes and escapes from the back.
Muay Thai: Basics to help prepare for those testing.

Buddy Week!!!
This week is Buddy Week and we are going to have some of our students bringing in a friend. The material will be very basic and anti bullying based. I’ve really enjoyed the curriculum this month and I think the youth have as well despite it not being as much mat work and being simple. I am excited to hear your feedback both from how you perceived it and felt it was perceived. Touch on initiate>initiation as this is the last week of the month and how good their buddy is for trying to initiate them into our jiu jitsu community.
break falls, tsu, double leg off of being pushed. or osoto to regard to technical stand up. pick the one you want to do. shoe lace games, standing up from turtle.keep the specific or live goes easy enough. no one should get hurt. definitely nothing involving a takedown.
adult bjj: truck stuff
muay thai testing: only for beginning ranks white/red and red. $40 testing fee 11 until on Saturday. black shirt for instructors and muay thai shorts. details in video of how it overlaps with open mat.

Alternate Definition: admit (someone) into a secret or obscure society or group, typically with a ritual.
In other words to “introduce someone to an organization or club” Make sure to reference this and the BUDDY WEEK we have going on next week.

Hey guys great week last week. Couple things. Thank you to the Rocket book notes, keep em coming. They’re super helpful to me. Youth instructors are all doing great. Remember NEXT week is going to be our Buddy week. We should have little flyers Jesse is going to hand out to the kids this week as a reminder to bring a friend next week, so next week expect the curriculums to simplify but be a lot of fun for everyone. Be diligent in leading the kids out to their cars, ive seen a few sprinters lately.

Youth BJJ: Side break fall, Side break fall regards. Osoto gari>side break fall with regard *for the bonus eject and and technical stand up.

Adult BJJ: Dog Fight, if doing the bottom lets get to truck attacks. If doing top dog fight, find a way to nullify and then destroy with passing.

Muay Thai: We have testing coming up on the 31st. Let’s get it finishing with some solid fundamentals. I don’t care how good the adult is at sparring if they can’t do a simple muay thai march and put their weight in the right place they won’t pass.

Jiu Jitsu Adult: We are going to Replay Cody’s sequence to victory this week.

Combatives this week! don’t forget to come or tell your friends in the 2A space. Wednesdays 630 all month

Word of the Month: Initiate-  to begin, set going, or originate
It’s very important that we initiate a good attack plan on back to school. Start thinking about some ways to make the transition of getting back a little easier and smoother on the family. Later in the week ask them if any of them have some methods for this?

Jiu Jitsu Curriculum: Wrestling based Double leg, Sprawls, Spin Behinds *Of course add more or less based off of the group including additional techniques or just details. Utilizing finishes from the previous week if they can put it all together in a final sequence would be cool .

Muay Thai curriculum: Every combo should include an uppercut and a hook.

*Tim & Jesse are out a good bit this week. Any extra help is greatly appreciated.

Good luck to Cody on his MMA Fight this week
