Week 4: Simple: Ask the groups what they’ve done to simplify their daily lives. Give them feedback on what you have done as well. Remind them of the Acronym KISS Keep it simple silly( we don’t tell them its really STUPID).

Content: Lets get some attacks from the top. Defenses to spider guard and Passes. SIMPLE. Things from the Stack position if you’re standing like Double Under. Staple the leg and over under or kneee cut options if you’re passing grounded. Move to attacks.

Katel and Ge are coming to share their knowledge with us this weekend and we are super excited. Next week we are starting a Striking Class in place of No Gi Elite. I’ll be making a post about it ASAP.

Simple: What are some  of the Simple things that your parents and teachers (Jiu Jitsu included)ask of you? Do you always do them to your best? If no, Why not since they are simple? Sometimes we need to exercise some discipline. If we are unable to handle the simple tasks, how are we going to be able to step up to responsibly handle complicated ones? If you can’t tie your belt , how are you going to be able to tie it when you just went out of bounds and you’re down by a point with 30 seconds left? If you can’t behave in class or at home, how are you going to be invited to parties and gatherings, nobody would want total chaos running around. Think about the simple things we are responsible for this week and try to do better at them.

Jiu Jitsu: Stay with the Spider / Lasso. by the end of this week we should have accomplished some basic steering wheel sweep or triangle or both for youth, as well as how to use it.

Adults, same as above, and with regard to advanced, make them do whatever.

Week of 5/2-5/6: Welcome Back Andrew!

Word Of the Month: Simple- Many Times we make tasks, goals, responsibilities &  relationships more complicated than they need to be. Let’s explore how to keep things simple this month.

What are things that we think are simple to do?

Curriculum

All Gi Classes should start with Spider Guard Basics. Feet in Biceps and Grips and learning to shoulder walk against a forward projecting Threat.

Steering Wheel Sweep/Simple Sweep Variation and Triangle Choke should be doable for beginners. Maybe a two week Task. Get on it Gentlement

In Advanced Adults /Intermediate Kids I’ll continue Spider/Lasso De la riva combinations

No Gi- De la Riva  Sit Through and Single Leg Sweep options Along with Tripod Sweeps
