Week of 4/10-4/14: Leadership Question!?
I’m reading a good book right now “Leadership in the Shadows” a book on leadership by Kyle Lamb, former UNIT guy that was on the ground during Black Hawk Down in Somalia. Legend in the SOF community. He poses a question in the book “what’s your leadership word” it has to be one word. It’s the word you look for in a leader. a good way to find it is to think about other great leaders you’ve had. This could be a parent, pastor, coach, teacher all the way up to people you saw as an adult in the work force. What commonalities did they have that impacted you?
By the end of the week have that word and then be able to explain it.
Tenacity: the quality or fact of being able to grip something firmly; grip.
- the quality or fact of being very determined; determination.“you have to admire the tenacity of these two guys”
Speak to the kids about its Definitions and how you interpret it and how it translates to how you have shown tenacity. tell them that that made you Tenacious.
Jiu Jitsu: Extended warmups Passing as the opponent is pulling guard with bullfighter/ or Pulling Guard directly into an armbar
Technique: Butterfly Guard Attacks and Retention
Last week I got into escaping bad positions like back mount , mount, and side mount, into common instant attacks from the Butterfly guard
Muay Thai: Conditioning Overhaul. Pads, shields, HARD
