Week of 2/8-2/13: Guard Attacks
Word of the month is Courage. Tell a story about a courageous person and what they did whether fictitious or real for the mat chats. Every day, every class. different stories if you’re leading the same group.
This Saturday the couples personal protection workshop. mention it after the classes. we have 5/15 potential spots filled.
Curriculums: later tonight or tomorrow. We are sticking with the guard offense though. all month.
Beginners: Arm Bar from Guard (offense Defense)
Brief them on what we did last week. In fact have them warm up with the TSU and the scissor sweep. 2x2min drills for each for the kids at least.
Armbar from guard- Do it from cross collar and sleeve grip since thats what we started from last week.
Armbar Defense via stack- Try not to get to this until they can do an arm bar correctly
Intermediate: Continue based off of what you taught last week. Create Sequencing of offense defense combinations. I did arm bar to triangle and will continue that through the end of the month moving into omoplata back and forth and so on. If you like you can do Sub >sweep like arm bar to stack to pendulum sweep. thats simple and can maybe be done next week in fundamentals class, but you all know sometimes the same techniques NEED to cross over into the advanced classes.
